MY Utilities has undertaken a programme of solar generation systems across MY Property's portfolio. The systems provide direct feeds into the building supplies to provide 100% renewable energy and to combat electricity market price fluctuations. A total of 7No. solar arrays are installed meeting 20% of the energy requirements of buildings.

Murphy Young Group has provided sponsorship support to a group of research students from Newcastle University. The researchers had devised an experiment to observe the oxygen uptake of yeast  under micro gravity conditions using a special microscope. The research involved utilisation of the European Space Agency Zero G aircraft and would be used to determine the potential use of the equipment on the international space station. The team undertook three days of flights. Support was required for the funding of the bespoke mounting equipment required for use on the aircraft.

MY Utilities has launched a new website. The new format separates the commercial and residential activities. Residential customers now have a new look site with easy to follow links. The site includes 'Ed' an AI bot that can answer most residential utility queries. There is also a simpler account login facility and a library of videos in which 'Ed' explains the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. The new site is part of MY Utilities programme to provide simple, easy to understand communication to customers whilst maintaining the highest level of service. 

Murphy Young Group has continued to expand its portfolio of in house software systems. The MYG software development programme has been running for many years and most recently has added applications for Utility Invoice Processing (with intelligent invoice reading), Storage Space Management (with customer portal and full accounting management) and a Property Management Budget and Order system. All systems are fully developed in house and serve the various arms of the Murphy Young Group, to increase operational efficiencies and provide a commercial edge.

Murphy Young Property will be investing to upgrade and enhance the space to attract new businesses to this excellent location.

Marking 20 years of the Murphy Young Group the MY Foundation has been launched. A registered charity trust entirely for the purpose of providing help and support to needy and vulnerable persons or groups in the vicinity of Murphy Young work areas.
